If you are planning to make a gender neutral nursery or baby boy nursery in Coastal Navy Style it is the one to choose.
We have these amazing images from interior designer Aliesha Porto @alieshaporto
“This room is a boy but also neutral coastal farmhouse style nursery. The shiplap is a dark navy. The natural items like the jute, fiddle fig, and the birch wood curtain rod make this room very soothing and relaxing. It’s nice to bring some elements of the outdoors inside the nursery” advises Aliesha Porto.
This style of nursery is totally neutral, calm, and relaxing.
Let’s look at the elements of coastal farmhouse nursery decor.
It combines textures like soft fabrics, distressed wood, driftwood, and metal. Use muted colours like off-white, taupe, and grey to keep it all consistent.
Expecting a baby is fantastic especially if it is a girl! Every mom can start a rosy pinky girly girl space creation process and here are we are with the tips and ideas!
This cute baby girl nursery has simple and very elegant decor. Nordic wooden shelf, name sign, picture frame and the crib highlight the simple lines and give the accents be seen. Here we have nice accents – baby crib canopy and hand made macrame mobile. And the pink colour in accents is added in small objects blanket, doll clothes, lovely baby girl dress on the wall shelf. But it wouldn’t be that adorable without the round marcame rug. Wallpaper or wall decals can be with different floral patterns.
In this baby girl nursery everything is about the wallpaper. It is the accent and it is the main colour scheme for all the nursery objects. Even the storage basket goes in the colour match. And the pretty pendant lamp in the flower shape gives even more botanical look to the nursery.
Here we have again the floral wallpaper that gives a beautiful accent and the princess corner with canopy and cushions. Kids love this reading corner and it doesn’t matter if your baby girl is still small she can enjoy just lying in it and playing with toys.
This adorable baby girl nursery is designed by Vanessa Antonelli The client asked to create something similar to the celebrity nursery (see the image below) with full wall covered with flowers. In fact this flower board makes the nursery so girly and fresh! Blush pink and flowers that is the idea of this space. And bunny posters is the cutest addition.
Baby Girl nursery of Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky
Everything in this nursery is so vintage and has the feeling of the history behind. Washed colours together with the distressed rug give this adorable look. Certainly, the crib is an essential piece and needs to be chosen carefully to match this type of interior. French-style cribs will look great here and of course together with the princess canopy.
Lovely and simple this baby girl nursery is really cute. Rainbow rug a nice accent here. Peony wall decals, swan poster and crib bed canopy are essential in this type girls nursery.
Beautiful baby girl nursery. The painting with marble pattern, the curtains and the knit ottoman. Lot’s of light and clean lines.
If you think that baby nursery should be pink only you are wrong. In fact any bright dark color that goes with pink is great. Here we have dark grey and blue colours in the decor in addition to pink and it looks great! The wallpaper gives the direction what colours to use in the nursery decor and it has that bright dark colours that you can simply use in accessories. Grey canopy, pink ottoman, grey changing mat cover are all in a great coordination with the main theme.
@1776fauxfarmhouse adorable baby girl nursery with absolutely stunning wallpaper. As you see one accent is enough for the room.
@thebloomingnest baby girl nursery has a different accent and it is a rug this time but it looks the same adorable as it has lovely flowers with pink colours.

Agin it is not all pink and it is beautiful! It is the nursery that gets you to the magical forest. And all you need is the wallpaper and matching colours in furniture and accessories. And a magical hero in the poster.@josefineingela
After all those pink and floral nurseries this nursery can be a bit plain but it isn’t as it is very cozy. Beige is the base colour for everything and it is about calm and stability and it is what our baby needs. Very cozy baby nursery. @nadia_thorburn

When we think about Boho we know it has to be natural. Natural colours and natural materials. If you ask any interior designer what would be the best materials to use in the styling Boho nursery you will have the answer: rattan, jute, wood, and seagrass. All these components perfectly fit into a modern Boho style.
First of all the colours. The white, ivory, beige and green are great to use for the walls. This nursery created by new mom Meg Golanski is a great inspiration for Baby girl nursery in Classic Boho Style. Everything you see in this interior has natural colors and textures. Seagrass basket used for the flower pot, macrame wall decor and cushion.
Baby changing mats with floral patterns look absolutely cute and the floral baby rompers make a great accessory. Peonies changing mat cover or any floral pattern becomes a great accent!
This nursery uses very dark green and it is a great background colour to use with the white or grey bed. And again the seagrass baskets and floral Boho patterns on the bedding and the blanket.
Artificial flowers and foliage are essential for Boho nursery if you want to make it classic. Lovely wreaths and foliage can beautifully decorate the baby room.
When it comes to decorating a baby room we often think what will my baby enjoy living in? What will make him/her smile every morning? What decor will be relaxing for good sleep and entertaining at the same time? And maybe will have learning elements.
Jungle theme is the best for this!
Plenty of wall decor with Jungle trees, leaves and animals that live in the jungle.
The colour scheme for the nursery has its own pallet and it has to have green, beige, and brown. Of course, white as a background and the basic colour. Only white background can highlight any decor.
What can we do if we build the nursery from scratch?
First of all, the floor. The wooden floor preferably darker colours will be great. Not light as we use in Nordic nurseries.
And the hand woven jute rug of natural beige or white colour. Durable jute fibers can work really well for kids’ rooms and they are allergy-free. Cotton woven rugs are also great and easy to clean and no allergy as well as compared to wool.
Wall decor depends on the budget. Wall paper can be a big investment but it will look fantastic. Even if you use it only partially just on one wall. Cactus wallpaper and jungle forest leaves are great background. Check if the wallpaper is suitable for kids rooms (no allergy components) and get enough with 30% extra for all the cutouts. You can use the left overs to decorate inside the wardrobe or a book shelf.
Even inside the drawers of the baby chest of drawers will look really nice. Use your imagination and decorate the room!
Such a tiny detail as a light switcher cactus decor can change the mood of any crying baby. You know how they like to press the buttons and here is the cactus! No more tears!
Apart from wall paper there is hanging decor. Now it is really trendy to have Animal Felt Heads in the nursery even if you have a Nordic style and for Jungle Nursery design they are essential. Giraffes, elephants, lions on one wall grouped together make a great decor. Also your child will learn the names of animals from the first days. If they can reach the decor from their cot bed it is beneficial to use tactile senses for learning.
If you have very little budget you can have 2-3 posters with safari animals. Today we have plenty of choice from watercolour to realistic photos on the posters and you can choose what best goes with your theme. We will write a separate post about choosing the poster for the nursery theme. Subscribe for updates. The posters would look better in the wooden frame on the white wall. Remember that Jungle theme is wood and green and make the best of it by adding plants in Handwoven Seagrass Baskets. Eco friendly and natural look makes it a great part of the jungle:)
Big leaves plants like Ficus Lyrata or Sansevieria Laurentii can add the Jungle real feeling and are easy to take care of and clean the dust from leaves what is really important for baby first days in your home.
The cot is up to you. It can be Babyletto white and wooden or even the simple wooden like you can buy from IKEA. It has to be simple and practical. Cot canopy can be brown or green. Adding cushions with Jungle theme prints will make the cot a part of the Jungle:)
For the cot you can use simple plain bedding but of course buying trendy cactus bedding is tempting. So, make your choice and get ready for your baby arrival!
We are so happy to find such a beautiful nursery design and share with you! It is absolutely gorgeous in terms of colour and accents!
You see? It is never enough for rainbows and unicorns! And a small vintage decor can change everything.
This nursery is designed by a mom Kelly Telfeyan. She is sharing her tips with us and where she bought the items to decorate the space for her daughter.
In fact, Kelly Telfeyan is an attorney and interior design is her passionate hobby. Let’s see what she tells about the nursery and how she created it.
Kelly Telfeyan
I designed the nursery for our adopted daughter, Abigail Piper (seen in the photo above). My intent was to create a nursery space that was happy, cheerful, and unique. I did that by applying gold wall decals to create a feature wall, using modern art pieces from local artists, carefully selecting bookshelves and wall decor, and infusing a lot of unicorns and rainbows. I also love the Jenny Lind coral crib and the coordinating area rug!!
The teal piece under the mirror is vintage 1960s. I painted it because the wood varnish was damaged…otherwise I would never paint good, solid wood!!
I think the space should grow with my daughter for years to come!! It is one of the happiest spaces in our house!! I think people have started to move too much toward neutrals in nurseries, but no one should be afraid to use color!! I also went off the beaten path by placing the crib in the middle of the room under a chandelier!!
We are happy to share a great idea for Girl’s Nursery from Vanessa Antonelli
Before I begin a client’s design, I have an internal meeting with my team. To get a good visual, picture it like a game show. We’re all excited. Ideas are flowing. Some of us stand. Some sit.
You have an idea? Shout it out! It’s a bit of chaos, but in a really creative and fun environment. Most of the time you can hear me shouting things out like “I want a neon basketball hoop or how about a surf board shelf”.
Each time they stop and look at me and say, “Vanessa, that’s not a thing.” Ok fun police, but how about we make it a thing? And that’s exactly how most of this nursery came to be.
When my client purchased the home, they moved the walls to create one L shaped room. The shape of the space made it feel like two separate rooms, so it was my job to make it flow well and look like one beautifully designed space.
The walls were inspired by a graphic design image I found on a notebook that belonged to my own toddler daughter in the exact color. I went back and forth between hand painting it and having a custom wallpaper created.
In the end a painter was hired to re-create it on-site using the inspo image. There are so many special and sweet spots in the space too. The custom pink feather sconces that match the room’s overhead light are a spectacular standout, as well as the custom pink tree-like bookcase.
The beautiful crib has linen upholstered side panels with modern lines. There are several spaces throughout the nursery where acrylic elements appear. In order to add just a touch more, I changed the included crib legs to acrylic ones. I love making small changes to things in order to customize it for the client.
The mix of textures like the gorgeous wood finish on the custom Romina Furniture dresser, the fur ottoman and nook cushion, the crystal beaded wallpaper and the patterns utilized throughout all work so well together.
While designing I instantly realized that there was going to be a lot of pink! I knew I needed to tone that down a little and I wanted to do it with the artwork. When I was traveling with my family, I saw a painting in a restaurant that had an acrylic frame on it and a neon light.
I was so inspired by it. I knew that something in that vein with a different design and bright colors would best balance the pink sweetness of the room and give it a little sass. After all, every princess can also be a rockstar?
