Sleepy Cues for 3-12 months Babies

sleeping cues

Hey there, lovely mamas (and papas)!

Navigating the sleepy signals of our adorable munchkins can sometimes feel like decoding a secret language, right?

I've been there, staring into those cute little faces, wondering if it's nap time or just a bluff. So, I've put together a quick cheat sheet on spotting those tell-tale signs of sleepiness in our babies, especially for the tiny humans aged between 3 to 12 months. Let's dive right in:

1. Early Sleep Cues

Glossy Eyes/Eye Bags: Just like us after a long day, those little eyes tell a big story.

Avoids Eye Contact: When the world's too much, and they start looking away.

Turning Away: Seeking a quiet escape from overstimulation. Blank Stare: That far-off look, lost in dreamland's brochure.

2.Mid Sleep Cues

Rubbing Eyes/Pulling Ears:The classic "I'm tired" move we all know too well.

Yawning: Contagious and cute, it's a clear signal bedtime's calling.

Fussiness/Clinginess:When only cuddles will do, and they want you to know it.

Chatty Kathy:Suddenly, they have all the stories to tell.

3.Late Sleep Cues (a.k.a. the Red Zone)

Arching Back: The baby equivalent of "Nope, not happening."

Pushing Away: When cuddles are not part of their current plan.

Hysterical Crying: Past the point of tired, entering overtired territory.
